About
OMEN — FILTHY ANXIETY (2018)
Creative Direction & Photography
Filthy Anxiety launched Omen as a culturally literate surf–skate label rooted in local behavior and environment. The strategy centered on authenticity through proximity — casting real skaters, shooting in the spaces they actually occupy, and building a visual world that felt embedded rather than staged.
The campaign was shot inside a vintage record store, at a neighborhood barbershop, and in surrounding alleyways and streets. Subtle cultural cues — vinyl sleeves, paper-bag 40s, post-session rituals — anchored the brand within a lived ecosystem. Composition emphasized obstruction and tension: chain-link foregrounds, tight logo crops, shallow depth of field, and a warm, desaturated palette that evoked archival realism. The garments read as uniform, integrated seamlessly into the environment.
Every image reinforced brand adherence and point of view. The inaugural drop sold out within 24 hours, establishing Omen as a credible presence within its community from day one.
